Walter Schwabe, is from the Bear Clan of the Kahnawá:ke Mohawk, and is also a direct descendant of Cree Chief Michel Callihoo, an original signatory of Treaty 6 for the Michel First Nation.

Walter is also an experienced mainstream media personality, having hosted his own successful radio show focused on social media airing on Edmonton’s The TEAM1260 in 2010 and for 7 years ending in 2019, he was a regular panelist appearing on Alberta Primetime airing on CTV 2. Walter is a published author, has been quoted in a multitude of newspapers, and has appeared repeatedly for comment on the radio and television news. In addition, as a digital strategist, he has also generated millions of views via online content generation and helped to pioneer new web and social analytics processes and technology currently used in modern digital marketing.
